The Wizard 101 test realm came available tonight so I hopped in to take a look at the new school themed housing. All I can say is... wow... amazing... omg... must have! The houses are so cool and each really captures the feel of it's corresponding school. There are so many great choices, I really can't decide which I want. Player housing is a strong point in Wiz101 and I have to say this is some of the best I've seen in any game. The locations are large and detailed with nooks and crannies to explore for hours.
In case you haven't heard about it yet, here's some of the details on housing from the official source:
Wizard House Fast Facts:
• Houses currently available include: Wizard City small and big island, Krokotopia small and big island, Marleybone small and big island, Moo Shu small and big island and Dragonspyre small and big island.
• Seven additional school houses based on the seven schools of magic: life, death, fire, ice, myth, storm and balance.
• School houses may be purchased for 10,000 Crowns (20 USD) or 100,000 in-game Gold.
• School houses will be available mid-December.
Here are some shots I took on my tour:
The Death school house is like a spooky haunted house, complete with an animation on the outside that makes the house look like a face. Downstairs is a furnace that spits fire out at you and outside is a dirty green pool.
The Fire house is a spiraling tower with many levels and awesome sounds and fire effects.
The Ice school house is an elaborate winter wonderland with several levels and a hidden pool with a frozen gobbler underneath.
The Life house is a lush tree-house themed home that is covered with green grass everywhere.
The Myth school house has a floating level and a cool Greek theme.
The Storm school house is a maze-like submarine complete with a lighthouse and a private island.
The Balance house is a really unique archaeological site complete with bridges and a huge angel statue in the middle.
